Woman is, indeed, merely Adam’s rib. It’s not solely a condition that a harsh world has imposed. It’s not a slave status created by Man and never really was. It is something about Woman herself, while in a state of nature with Man, that makes her inferior to him. Time was the happiest women in the world were little more than property belonging to their man. It remains in the blood.
